1.         What do I need to get satellite TV?

             Standard and high-definition satellite TVs both require three things:  a satellite dish (antenna), a receiver and

             programming.  Basic Communications will bring everything that is needed to complete a standard installation. 

             There are programming packages starting as low as $19.99 per month! 

 

2.         Can I get my local stations?

            Over 93% of television markets now offer local stations to satellite customers. 

            Also, there are many areas that offer local stations in high-definition. 

 

3.         Will my satellite work in bad weather?

            Satellite TV service is reliable year round.  On rare occasions, severe weather may interrupt your service for a brief

            period.  Chances are if you have electricity you will have your satellite TV.  Keep in mind that the cable companies

            also use satellite dishes to pull in their signals - therefore if your satellite isn't working - cable may be out as well.

 

4.         How long do I need to keep my service active?

            Dish Network and DirecTV both ask that you maintain your programming for a minimum of 12-18 months. 

            Once you have the service this will NOT be hard for you to do!

 

5.         How can I place an order for satellite TV service?

            For your convenience you have two options for placing your order with Basic Communications.  You can call our

            office Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm and speak with Miranda.  Or, you can complete

            your order at www.basiccommunications.com and we will call to confirm your order and schedule an installation appointment

            with you.

 

6.         How long will it take for installation once my order is placed?

            Generally you will receive a call back from our office within 24 hours and an installation appointment is scheduled at

            that time.  In most areas we are able to complete your installation within 2-3 days.

           

7.         Can I control what shows my children watch?

             Yes.  With parental controls you are able to control what your children are watching on TV.  This can be done by

             blocking out specific stations or by allowing only certain ratings.  You are also able to set specific viewing times or

             block viewing altogether.

 

8.         Can I record programs that I may not be home to watch?

             Yes!  With DirecTV or Dish Network you are can subscribe to DVR service.  With this service you are able to

             record up to 100 hours of programming right on the hard drive of your receiver.  You will also be able to pause live

             TV, and skip over recorded commercials.  With a DVR you can watch TV at your convenience!

 

9.         How can I find out what shows will be playing and when?

            Our satellite carriers both offer a great on - screen guide that gives you 7 days of programming schedules.  Using this

            guide you are able to set up reminders for your favorite shows to tune in on the correct day and time.  You can also

            set up to record programming using this guide.  If you would prefer to receive a TV Guide both carriers do offer a

            monthly magazine for a small charge.

 

10.       Can I get High Definition programming via my satellite?

            HD programming is available with Dish Network and DirecTV.  Each carrier has their own line-up of high definition

            channels and is launching new ones frequently.  Local stations are offered in HD in select markets. Please call us at
